History
The premier issue of Banfield was launched in July 2005 and offers a unique approach for a veterinary journal. Readers enjoy a mix of articles that encompass clinical, leadership and lifestyle content to help veterinarians achieve success in both practice and life. The journal fills a huge void to meet the growing needs of women, recent graduates and students in general Pet practice. More than 50 percent of the veterinary profession is made up of women and that percentage is growing rapidly. Sixty-five percent of the students in veterinary school are women, with the female population at some schools as high as 90 percent.
Editorial Mission
To enrich the lives of general practitioners and veterinary students by providing the resources to succeed in Pet practice and life.
Editorial Content
Banfield is dedicated to providing veterinarians who have been in practice less than 12 years as well as veterinary students with the veterinary information and resources needed to achieve a successful professional career as well as a fulfilling personal life.
Each issue of the magazine focuses on a specific clinical topic with an emphasis on diagnosis, disease management and preventive health care for Pets.
Regular departments dedicated to professional development provide veterinarians with new insight in the areas of leadership, communication and client satisfaction.
The lifestyle section of the magazine offers an array of valuable information on a variety of topics such as personal finance, health & fitness and childcare and family issues to help veterinarians achieve their own personal goals.
Frequency and Circulation
Banfield is a bimonthly publication distributed to 32,000 Pet practitioners and veterinary students in the United States. Faculty at the veterinary schools and other opinion leaders in the profession also receive the journal.
