A Banfield externship matches you with an experienced mentor who will guide your learning process. You can expect to develop your medical and surgical skills under the care of a licensed mentor while practicing in our state of the art hospitals. In addition, you will learn about the business of veterinary practice through exposure to Banfield's leadership initiatives.
Externships are available at most of our full-service hospitals and range from two to eight weeks in duration. During those weeks, you'll shadow your mentor and work his or her schedule, while earning a $200 per week stipend to offset travel and housing expenses. Plus, you’ll be eligible to participate in our Student Rewards Program and have the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 in future compensation!
Externships are available to final year veterinary students who do not need sponsorship to work in the US and are currently enrolled in a College of Veterinary Medicine. This is a 40-hour per week commitment and may involve evening and weekend shifts. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and positions are available throughout the year.
