The transition from school into practice can be overwhelming. All of the doctors at Banfield were once in your shoes. To make this challenging time as smooth and successful as possible, we've developed benefits and programs for graduating veterinary students. These are just a few:
Paid Mentorship
New graduate doctors participate in our comprehensive 14-week paid mentorship program, designed to ease the transition from school to practice by providing the insights, skills and tools graduating students need for successful, rewarding veterinary careers.

High Quality Medicine
Banfield hospitals empower doctors with paperless medical records, touch-screen monitors, Sevoflurane, tonopens, evidence-based best practices and much more (including ultrasound and digital radiography in many Pet hospitals). We equip you with the keys to practice high quality medicine from your first day on the job. Learn more about evidence based medicine from Banfield.
Outstanding Quality of Life
First year doctors can enjoy total compensation as high as $100,000 including full-benefits, 26 paid days off, board exam reimbursement and many other incredible benefits. Plus, we provide our team members with LifeBalance programs that cover topics like budgeting, child-care issues and developing your skills as a manager. Non-U.S. citizens attending AVMA accredited schools of veterinary medicine may be eligible to participate in our student programs: however, Banfield is no longer able to procure USCIS authorization for overseas students. If the student attends a US veterinary school, he or she may be eligible to request Curricular Practical Training from the Office of International Services at their university.
