separation anxiety
Pets may experience anxiety due to a change either in routine or something more traumatic such as being in a new home or the introduction of a new family member. A Pet unfamiliar with being left alone may suffer from fear which causes heightened anxiety. Common behaviors resulting from separation anxiety could be destructive, self mutilation, pacing, excessive barking/whining and other issues. Medical and behavioral treatment is available.
